Anyone living in or around Brighton, Hove and Portslade, who is in receipt of Disability Living Allowance, Attendance
Allowance or Incapacity Benefit may be eligible to apply for a free refurbished computer, if they don't already have one.
Spider's
Web IT was set up in July 2004 to provide fully refurbished computers for disabled people living in the area.
This
project has been funded with a Global Grant, consisting of money from The European Social Fund matched with monies provided
by Brighton & Hove City Council, Single Regeneration Budget and Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
Other funding bodies
who have supplorted us are The Scarman Trust and Tesco.
To donate equipment please call 01273 298667 and ask for a
donation document.
To become a member and receive a refurbished computer system call 01273 298667 and ask for a membership
form.
And if you are interested in becoming a volunteer again call 01273 298667.
Hopefully we can expand in 2007
In 2007 we would like to expand the area that we can cover, by getting our own premises.
If we manage to do this,
we should be able to invite more people from both sides of the East Sussex/West Sussex boundary line to join the rest of our
volunteers, enabling the scheme to grow.
Then we will remove the Brighton & Hove restriction to include many more
Towns on this part of the south coast.
